MICRO
HEAT 520
Surface Fusion Alloys with Controlled
Heat Input for Welding, Reclamation
and Repairs. CHARACTERISTICS
Micro Heat 520, a specially designed
surface fusion alloy for controlled
fusion of base material. The weld metal
deposit is uniform and easily machinable
with high speed steel cutters. Suitable
for intermetallic light abrasion applications.
APPLICATIONS
Hard surfacing of gears, wheels, shafts,
wagon wheels, tractor sprockets, idler
shafts etc. PROCEDURES
• In case of hard surfacing
large size steel casting and forgings,
low alloy steel and high
carbon steel, preheat 150° C minimum.
• Remove all surface
defects using Micro U • Adopt
sequence of welding for heavy deposits.

HEAT 530
Surface Fusion Alloys with Controlled
Heat Input for Welding, Reclamation
and Repairs. CHARACTERISTICS
Micro Heat 530 is a surface Fusion alloy
depositing chromium carbide Iron type
weld metal which has excellent abrasion
resistance under small impact loads.
Suitable for maximum of two layer build-up
where surface finish in as welded condition
is acceptable.
APPLICATIONS
Hard surfacing of sand pump casing,
pump impellers, cane knives, dozer blades,
end discs of Banbury rotors, dredger
cutters, screw conveyors, guides, slides.
PROCEDURES
• Prepare the surface
to be welded by removing defect using
Micro ‘U’ for gouging.
• Restrict alloy deposition
to two layers. In the case of Excessive
build, use Micro alloy 881
as buffer layer • Weld the
required zone with minimum recommended
current using proper welding sequence.

MICRO
HEAT 540
Surface Fusion Alloys with Controlled
Heat Input for Welding, Reclamation
and Repairs. CHARACTERISTICS
Micro Heat 540 is a surface fusion alloy
which yields work hardenable hard facing
on work pieces and machine components.
Suitable mainly for components subjected
simultaneously to strong abrasive or
rolling wear and high impact/ pressure
loads.
APPLICATIONS
Hard surfacing of crusher hammer, crusher
jaws, crusher cones, dredger teeth rails.
PROCEDURES
• Water cool the weld
metal during welding; if not, control
interpass temperature below
250 C.
• Use Micro Alloy 881
for barrier layer when depositing on
other than 13% Mn Steel.
• When the base metal of 13% Mn
Steel is hardended, cut-off the hardened
Zone before welding using
Micro U.
