MICRO
ALLOY 842
Surface Fusion Alloys with Controlled
Heat Input for Welding, Reclamation
and Repairs. CHARACTERISTICS
Micro alloy 842 is a duplex structure
alloy with surface fusion characteristics.
The weld deposit gives controlled ferrite-austenite
structure providing high strength and
toughness with excellent corrosion resistance.
Recommended for joining of unknown steels,
dissimilar steels, high carbon and alloy
steels as weld deposit has high resistance
against micro-fissuring. Deposits are
tough, wear resistant and have very
high yield strength.
APPLICATIONS
For high strength Sulphide/Chloride
corrosion application like salt water
pipe lines, re-building chemical agitator
blade. Also recommended for gear box
main shaft, counter shafts, joining
of leaf and coil springs. Ideal for
construction and mining industries for
rebuilding of worn parts. PROCEDURES
• Degrease and clean
all the surface to remove any oxide
layers.
• All defective material/overstressed
metal to be removed Using MICRO U
• Provide sniffers to avoid distortion
and also use tack welds at short intervals
to stiffen the assembly.
• Use short stringer bead using
recommended current. Maintaining minimum
heat input and interpass
temperature not exceeding 150° C
is a must for success of job.
• Adopt welding sequence
whenever applicable. • Use
SS wire brush for intermediate cleaning.

ALLOY 890
Surface Fusion Alloys with Controlled
Heat Input for Welding, Reclamation
and Repairs. CHARACTERISTICS
Micro Alloy 890 is a versatile fully
austenetic electrtode that deposits
weld metal which is tough and ductile
and has resistance to impact, corrosion
erosion and scalling at elevated temperatures
upto 1000° C. The balanced combination
of Cr-Ni-Mn enables it suitable for
wider applications such as Ni-Hard components
build up. APPLICATIONS
For joining fully austenetic manganese
steel to themselves, manganese steel
to carbon and low alloy steels, M.S.
to S.S. and joining dissimilar steels.
Also for surfacing carbon steels, low
alloy steels and S.S. to enrich resistance
to corrosion and impact. PROCEDURES
• Clean weld area throughly
, free of all impurities.
• Remove hardened zone
and cracks, if any. • Use
stringent weld technique and short length
weld beads.
• Maintain interpass
temperature 100-150° C. Use minimum
current as far as possible
to avoid heat distribution while welding
manganese steels.

MICRO
ALLOY 832 DESCRIPTION
MICRO ALLOY 832 is a fully austenitic
weld metal and suited for oxidation
and heat resistance application. Generally
applicable to stainless steels of unknown
compositions.
Operates on AC/DC (+) APPLICATIONS
For applications involving high degree
of oxidation resistance and high strength
at elevated temperatures upto 1200°
C like Furnace parts, line cooler plates,
heat exchangers, heat treating boxes
and baskets etc. PROCEDURES
Clean weld area ; on DC use reverse
polarity.
Use intermediate tack welds.
Heavier sections should be bevelled
to 60 degrees.
Maintain short arc and deposit stringer
beads.
Avoid weaving, Use SS wire brush for
cleaning.
